Peter Gorton Consultancy from MasterChef is making an incredibly tasty and simple to make mushrooms on toast, with the mushrooms provided by Forest Fungi which we now stock! They grow a range of mushrooms from shiitake to lion’s mane with a plethora of antioxidants and vitamins packed inside!


  • Red onion 
  • Garlic 
  • Olive oil 
  • King oyster, shiitake, yellow oyster mushrooms 
  • Butter 
  • Cream  
  • Green chilli 
  • Coriander 
  • Salt and pepper 
  • Bread 


  1. Toast the bread until it is lightly browned and set it aside. 
  2. Heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat in a large skillet until the butter is melted. 
  3. Add the minced garlic and onions to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds 
  4. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté them for about 2 minutes, or until they are tender and golden brown. 
  5. Add the cream, chopped fresh green chilli, and coriander and stir
  6. Season the mushrooms with salt and black pepper to taste. 
  7. Present with a garnish of choice.
